Biobased Creations is starting again!

This week Biobased Creations will start with the fantastic builders Caspar de Haan and WAM&VanDuren on the construction of The Exploded View Beyond Building at Floriade 2022. In the coming month, the construction team will work hard on the realization of this exhibition in the shape of a house.

We wish the builders a lot of success and fun with building. And we are looking forward to welcoming everyone again from April 14th in our biobased house. Lees meer →

College van Rijksadviseurs gaat voor ‘Een nieuwe bouwcultuur’ met biobased natuurinclusief bouwen.

Met het programma ‘Een nieuwe bouwcultuur’ wil nu ook het College van Rijksadviseurs biobased en natuurinclusief bouwen stimuleren. In de hele keten: van de teelt van gewassen tot toepassing in de bouw. Biobased en natuurinclusief bouwen, met het levend bodem-watersysteem als fundament, moet uitgroeien tot het nieuwe normaal.

Waarom?

We staan voor een grote bouwopgave. Er zijn veel nieuwe woningen nodig en er moeten ook nog eens miljoenen huizen van het gas af en geïsoleerd worden. Alleen als we dat zo duurzaam mogelijk doen, kunnen we de klimaatdoelstellingen halen: CO2-neutraal en een circulaire economie in 2050.

Daarvoor moet er wel iets veranderen: de gebouwde omgeving is nu nog goed voor zo’n 40% van onze CO2-uitstoot en energieverbruik. Dat kan en dat moet anders.

Cement is passé, houtskeletbouw is aan een opmars bezig. Het natuurlijke isolatiemateriaal daarvoor komt van de broers Wesselink. ‘Grote bedrijven vragen ons nu om hulp bij de isolatie van woningen, dat was vroeger ondenkbaar.’

Research into market needs in biobased building

The Exploded View Beyond Building is also a field lab for zero-emission building. For this, Biobased Creations works together with TNO.

Part of this program is a broad market research into the opportunities for biobased building. In this way, the producers of biobased materials gain more insight into the opportunities and needs that help them in the development and upscaling of their materials. Bijeenkomst ‘Als ik kan, koop ik biobased’

Atrium

Biobased bouwen staat volop in de belangstelling en heeft enthousiaste aanhangers. Dat bleek ook tijdens de bijeenkomst ‘Als ik kan, koop ik biobased’, georganiseerd door Biosintrum, Oldenboom en Pianoo. De bijeenkomst richtte zich op architecten, aannemers, inkopers en beleidsmakers in de provincies Friesland, Groningen en Drenthe en was bedoeld om kennis te delen en ervaringen uit te wisselen over het bestaan en het gebruik van biobased bouwmaterialen.

Promote Carbon Capture Now

On October 12th, the natureplus symposium “Carbon Capture and Storage for free” marked the kick off of this years’ natureplus European event series and provided a broad overview of the current status of how tools and legislation are currently encouraging the uptake of more biobased materials.
